Taylor Morrison’s Horizon Plan in East Mesa’s Trovia Norte is Elegantly Appointed

Inside Taylor Morrison’s harvest-inspired model home at Trovita Norte in East Mesa

Set in a beautiful enclave with rolling green lawns and tree-lined streetscapes in Mesa, Arizona, are elegantly designed estate-style homes. These designs harken to the historic beginnings of an agrarian community that nurtured acres of beautifully manicured citrus groves for more than 100 years.

Here, an expansive ranch-style home, The Horizon, echoes the golden blush of an early morning sunrise.

Designed with elegant textiles and finishes, rich, varied woods, and a sophisticated color palette that whispers of harvests with a complex collection of oranges and gold, Taylor Morrison’s harvest-themed home at Trovita Norte evokes the rich heritage of the region.

“We wanted this home to bring a sense of history while delivering an unmistakably contemporary lifestyle,” said Janet Hebert, design studio manager for Taylor Morrison’s Phoenix division.

With cool tones as its backdrop, the interior of The Horizon tells a story of place and time with rich layers inspired by by-gone eras. In the living room, the subtle zigzag pattern of the white-on-white carpet is mirrored in golden colored plush pillows.

The orange and brown mosaics of Indian-inspired pottery adorns a table built to reflect the angled aspect of the area’s famous Red Mountain, while the natural brown of leather chairs, the gray of contemporary couches and the gold in abstract artwork come together to create a visual representation of the natural colors found in the open desert just a few miles east of the community.

“Everything in this home is inspired by this area’s unique and varied past,” said Designer Gina Meno. “Some elements chosen relate to homes of the past while others speak to geography. Finally, we layered in colors of the desert accented with colors that honor the area’s more recent history as a working citrus grove that helped settlers here thrive for more than a century.”

Throughout the home, hues of orange and gold are seen in floor-to-ceiling curtains, guest rooms painted in bold geometric designs, and the gold-framed vanity mirrors and oversized pottery that create a striking display in the master bedroom suite.

The harvest theme continues in the home’s separate guest suite, complete with its own kitchen and living quarters. Here, mosaic patterns are seen in pillows, throws and curtains, each accented with striking golden details. A rust-colored end table boasts an intricate, patterned design. The guest bath continues the theme with a tiled surround punctuated with distinctive lines of golden colored tiles.

The color scheme extends to the suite’s furnished outdoor courtyard shared by the home’s private office suite.

“The Horizon is a graceful home built for refined living while meeting the needs of the homeowner,” said Todd Hahn, vice president of sales and marketing for Taylor Morrison’s Phoenix division. “The home offers ample space, sophisticated design details and multigenerational or guest living quarters. It’s an ideal home design for those who believe that elegant living is about a sense of place as much as it is a sense of style.”
